Hello all, I am looking for a simple application that will monitor iChat while sitting in the menu bar. It should not have a dock icon or be a colour icon in the menu bar. Now for what it does, when it sees iChat has unread messages (while iChat is in not the top application) it will display an exclamation point.

Mock Up Images: (obviously only if someone is going to write it)

No New messages:

Not quite what you're looking for (though I'm sure you could submit a feature request), but take a look at Chax (check MacUpdate): tabbed chatting, dock icon badging on new messages, animated buddy icons... it's nice.

Yup already have Chax, I just keep missing important messages because freaking iChat doesn't bounce the icon often enough and I never see it.

Install Adium and Growl, that works well. Growl is neat, it works with a few applications, such as Adium.

EDIT: On the events tab you can set options like this

EDIT2: iChat has an option to bounce repeatedly, but it doesn't work!
