Hi:

New switcher here... and I am looking for a good HTML editor. I DID see the other thread (which is what got me thinking about this post). But that was for a WYSIWYG editor- I do not do that. I want something to edit code directly in. WYSIWYG does not give me the control I want.

I want a couple other things. preview- that is obvious. But I also need to open multiple pages at once, and be able to do global (ALL pages!) search and replace.

The WIN program I use is ancient (1997!)- I do not need lots of bells and whistles, justy good, solid programs!

Thanks!

Dave

i like dreamweaver for coding with a preview. when you make changes in the code, just hit F5 to refresh the preview. not sure about global find and replace, though it does have find and replace within a single document. i also like being able to have different documents open in tabs.
i used to like golive, but that was when i was doing wysiwyg; dreamweaver is pretty awesome. not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for as it does have a good deal of bells and whistles, plus it's somewhere around $99
