This is apparently a LOT harder than I had thought. I'm looking for an app to measure distance walked/run/whatever, BUT when the user pauses it, it does not continue recording.

Perfect example for this:

You want to measure how far you've walked all day, but you are occasionally on and off some other forms of transportation, like a bus, or car. Basically I want an app that functions just as a standard pedometer does, only possibly more accurate.

I should also note that there are several apps that in fact do allow pausing. The problem is that when you resume, it calculates a straight line distance from where you paused, to where you are now, and adds that distance in. I want it to ignore any calculations while paused.

Any ideas?

A standard pedometer will work. I use the standard activity app in my Apple Watch, measures the distance I walk, and definitely not when I travel with vehicles. And,it's completely automatic,no manual pausing needed.

Funny because I was just google some more about this and found that the Health app already does this. I feel pretty dumb, but I'll leave this thread in case someone else has he same question. Thanks!!
