Hi everyone,

Basically the title. I tried recording with the built-in feature but system audio got not recorded there and I read that Quicktime also captures the microphone audio which I don't want. So if anyone has a solution that is able to do what I want (with the best quality possible) I would be very grateful to know.

Thanks in advance :)

OBS Studio.
An open-source free project. You can record anything you want, both or neither system and/or microphone output.

Thanks for your help. I just tried it out and the issue I'm having is that the recording is really choppy. As a test, I tried to record a Safari window in which a YT video was playing but the resulting quality is really bad. I'm using a 2017 13 inch MacBook Pro by the way.

Not free software, but I use Screenflick from Araelium to record screen with audio (and mic too, if you select the option).

ScreenFlick
OMG, this is 100% perfect. Thanks sooo much for the recommendation, it's exactly what I was looking for.

Oh, and could you perhaps answer me one question: I noticed the following:

Whenever I start a recording the audio jumps to 100%. But how loud this 100% is depends on the audio setting I had before I started the recording. An extreme case would be: I set the audio to 0% and then start the recording. The audio will jump to 100% but it still remains completely silent. How should I best proceed here?

EDIT: Nevermind, support just answered and told me that I should adjust the sound via the pop-up menu. Works great. Really happy with the program so far. Thanks again for recommending it to me.
