I've been searching around to find an app that serves as a to-do-list, reminder, schedule, and course homework/project due-dates... basically anything that could really serve as a replacement for a paper planner AND schedule. It would be nice if the app had push notifications so I could see an alert 10/20/30 min before class or something. Have any of you found any apps that have been particularly useful for college purposes? It would be nice if all of these features were included in just one app but I realize that may not be the case...

I checked out iHomework and it seemed like it lacked a schedule feature that told you when/where/what your next class was. I could be wrong, so it would be great if any of you using this application could elaborate on it's usefulness.

hey i was looking for the same thing as you. I went thru a lot of apps. but for the last two months or so I found what worked best for me than anything else.. and it's free. Google Calendar. i knwo i knwo not fully syncable with iCal and your phone, but suncabel enough taht you can work easily with it.

the greates t thing about Google calendar for me is that you can:

-have access to it wherever you go that has an internet connection.

-have it on your iphone with you at all times and up todate (if synced before any changes were made)

-I have google calendar set up so that it send me and email one day before whatever is due, a text message 5 hours before, another text message to remind me again 1 hours before it needs to be handed in.

-syncable calendar:so I have teh same clases with about 10 people so what we did was we set up a calendar that we can all change and add things to it. so the ten of us always know when thinsg are due, what is due, how it needs to be handed in and for what class. It really is amazing when you have more than one persons memory adding notes and assignment the chances of missing an assignment or even a single step or requirement in an assignment are so little. it really really is great

-you can have your personal and shared (hmwk per class), classes, birthdays, all your calendars all in the same page and see conflicting areas.

But really the greatest part for me has been teh ability to send myself an email at 5 am telling me exactly what will be due today and an SMS telling me 5/1 hour before a project/hmwk/assignment is due.. give it a try

p.s: As i finished typing this i received a text message reminding me that I must be at the apple store tomorrow by 1 pm for my personal shopping appointment.....seeeeeeeee it worksssss lol

todo or istudiez. mainly because you can access the schedule and everything without needing an internet connection. therefore you always have it available. You can, btw use the iPhone calendar since that allows you to leave notes for each specific lecutre, and can have as many alerts as you want. it can also send out emails automatically (if you sync with iCal) to remind you in another way.
