Hi, i saved the hard drive from my old imac back in 2010 -12, i was wondering if anyone had any tips for gaining access to it. I connected to my windows pc with a usb harddrive case but ive had no look so far. I used a program that promised to gain access to old mac drives but i had no look so far(edit -this program was called macdrive10.)
It had boot camp installed (the old imac hard drive did) so maybe that makes things harder.

Try Transmac.

Your original post is confusing.
What do you want to DO with this drive?

Do you want to use it to boot a PC?
(that's probably impossible)

Do you want to mount it on the Windows desktop, and get files from it?
(that's possible)

Do you want to use it to boot another Mac?
(may or may not be possible, depends on the Mac and what year it was made)

Do you want to mount it on another Mac?
(should be no trouble)

I think OP just wanted to "gain access" to the disk for data retrieving.

hi sorry, i want to get files from it, and i thought booting from a mac or something would be a good way. I tried using transmac on my windows 10 pc, but it says it cant access the data. Im not sure the harddrive is interacting properly with the computer, when i give it power it just makes a sound like its powering up but just stops and starts. Transmac recognizes my sabrent hd drive enclave but doesnt open the drive.
