Hi Guys,

I am looking to purchase an iPad 16GB wifi at a discount. I dont mind it being slightly used. What would be a good price to buy it at? I live in Seattle.

Also, has anyone bought their iPad on CL? What are some things I need to look for?

Buying used might not make sense right now. I've seen a number of listings at more than MSRP.

450 is the going rate around here for a 16 wifi. They are regularly instock at the local best buys. Heck even the 3G models are in stock pretty much every day now. I'm in South Florida.

I just bought one off CL today. Lucked out and got it cheap. But usually people figure there's is made of gold and sell it for maybe $20 off the price with tax. I would say stalk CL or just buy new. And $450/$425 seems to be a good price point.

Yeah what I have noticed around here is that the ads usually start at $500. But then someone makes an offer for $550 or something. There is no incentive to buy from CL at that point.

Anyway, I just bought one for $425.

The guy said he won it in a raffle. Although the plastic on the box was opened(he said his girlfriend just couldn't resist), the iPad and the charger/cable were still in the plastic.

So I guess I am now officially in the iPad club :D

Thanks guys!

Congrats! Weird thing is, the guy I got it from said his job gave it away in a contest like thing....'cept mine was sealed. Hmmm odd.

Unless you live in one of the countries yet to get the iPad like say Hmmm

THE WHOLE OF SCANDANAVIA... (Where I Live and had to order one from the US and pay 90€ Shipping and 150 € in Customs Fees)......

THen you can just walk in to any apple or best buy or lets face it any apple seller and just buy one.

Why do Apple hate Scandanavia....?

Damn VAT tax! I remember paying 100 euro VAT tax for two iphones shipped to me in Finland. My mom put "iphones" on the declaration form when she shipped them! What company did you use to ship the US version to you? I will be moving back to Finland and may not be able to have my parents ship everything.

Edit: Sorry, didn't mean to Hijack thread... so umm yea about $50 to 75 off retail price sounds good for a used ipad.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A306 Safari/6531.22.7)

If you want to pick up an iPad at a real bargain, you may want to wait until version 2 comes out next spring. Of course, with upgraded hardware available, you may want to purchase new at that point anyway, so YMMV on that plan.
