here is a screenshot of my hardware. I am looking to get either the fastest DDR2 or DDR3, and how much memory can i put in it?

Go to OWC and you can get all the specs for your RAM. Basically you need:

667MHz ECC Mac Pro
Memory Information

8 Total Slots, 32GB Supported
Must Upgrade using Matched Pairs
DDR2 240 Pin Fully-Buffered DIMM
72 Bit (64 bit + 8 bit ECC)
Mac Pro Specific Heatsink on Module
Four or More FB-DIMMs installed provides for best performance

see this is where it gets confusing because this isnt the default configuration for this model and serial, it has been upgraded, cpu wise and memory, so im trying to figure out whats what

apple on the phone told me 16gb total not 32 so you can see my confusion, could i mix it and keep the 1gb singles in that are givgin me 4gn total and put 2gbs in the rest
