I'm looking for more storage to a MacBook Pro 2014. 1 TB SSD from OWC is too expensive ($650), so I was thinking about a small USB or SD memory card, with a capacity of at least 512 GB.

I found this; http://9to5mac.com/2014/05/23/three...k-air-or-retina-pro-through-the-sd-card-slot/

...but I have never used one, and I am also sure I have read about an USB drive that's extende only a couple of mm from the USB port.

Does anybody have experience with storage like these?

Tia,
Andreas

Lexar S45 and Sandisk ultra fit are the smallest USB options, maxes out at 128g. If you go that route, buy Lexar, sandisks do get very hot.
