I'm sure Getty has lots of high quality images of the Olympics for sale - they're they ones with the official rights to photos from the Olympics.

A friend of mine is in their IT group. We were just talking about how they've currently got nothing to do. During the Olympics they (the IT staff) are not allowed to do ANYTHING to the servers at all, with the exception of course of when a server crashes.

In case anyone was interested, I found these pictures of the opening ceremony (http://damncoolpics.blogspot.com/2008/08/beijing-2008-olympics-opening-ceremony.html). They are not large in size but they are really good photos.
