iPhone Looking for recommendation of WiFi signal strength app

Like the title says....looking for an app that shows WiFi signal strength. All the ones I see are mainly WiFi speed tests or need to subscribe right away. I have wifi analyzer for my MBP, just need one for my phone when I’m onsite at clients houses/etc. TIA

Not exactly sure if it will do everything you might need, but "Fing - Network Scanner" app might be worth looking into.

Airport Utility is on my iPad & iPhone, downloaded from the app store.

No, I do a scan and see every available WiFi network. I don't own any Apple WiFi gear.

Edit: I stand semi-corrected. The app's functionality on the iPad is different from the iPhone. On the iPad, you can do a scan for all available networks; on the iPhone, it will only look for an AirPort base. Bizarre.

I thought I had used it on my iPhone but clearly I hadn't, just on the iPad. I am really surprised that the functionality would differ so. I also checked out Fing and don't see any general network info available and the paid version only removes ads. I remember this subject from some time ago when I did a similar search and only came up with AirPort Utility. This is another area where Android offers a lot more than iOS - I had a similar experience looking for GPS signal utilities.

Yea I would think it would’ve showed more info like WiFi dBm, etc. Not too many apps on the store that do that. I’ll keep looking around. Thanks for your help tho

As I understand it, Apple blocked the access to WiFi signal strength on iOS some years ago. That is the reason no app (except Apple's own Airport app) has this feature.

Turns out you have to go into settings for the app in Settings and enable WiFi scan there - it's off by default. I don't remember that on the iPad bu that is the case on the iPhone.

In case anybody else ends up looking for something similar:

Try Wi-Fi SweetSpots or TamoSoft Throughput Test. With the TamoSoft app you will also need a macOS or Windows device to act as the server.
