I'm looking for software that would allow me to drop files into a protected folder that could then only be accessed by entering a password. I though that Apple's FileVault would be like that, but it just does a mass encryption of the home directory. I need a folder too so I can drop in text files of passwords and stuff like that. Just incase I accidently leave my comp logged on, all my super sensitive info is still safe.

Use Disk Utility to make an encrypted disk image. Works great for me.
Just don't forget to eject the disk image after you are done using it so that nobody else can access it.
