Hello and I do apologize as I am new to this forum so please pardon me if this has already been posted. I am looking for a way to post a .dmg of a Snow Leopard DVD so that I can download this OS. I have attempted multiple times to use the disk utility but I feel like the instructions I have read are not clear. Does anyone happen to have an article or any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Many thanks

a DMG from the Retail DVD of Snow Leopard, maybe this link is helpful:

Thank you much!

Well, actually hold on.
I was not very clear. I owned a copy of the Snow Leopard however the DVD is no longer in my possesion...went missing. I do have the original packaging but the physical disc is out of the equation.
I decided that since I had already purchased the software it seemed only fair that I could download the ISO or .dmg in this case. I was hoping to know if there was a way for me to be able to mount this image and install the OS without the disk? I know for example I was able to use a software program to mount a disc of Windows 7 and I was able to install the OS without a disk. Can this be accomplished on the Macintosh?

No getting into.....

the discussion about fair and legal, seems no way other than shell out the $$ and buy a retail disc. You suggestion implies downloading maybe a pirated copy, hence, dont expect too much help here....

Not saying you are a pirate. And pardon me if you feel offended and I dont walk in on the discussion about fair uses.

No offense taken, but yeah I figure I would need to probably shell out the dough. Thanks for the help anyway.
