I think I came across a very good windows 7 installation guide for mac pro that basically tunes the install for peak performance but I can't find the link anymore

Anybody have it handy? What I'm trying to do is optimize windows 7 on my 2009 mac pro for gaming performance. Clean install without installing unnecessary Apple drivers.

Thanks

Alex

Simple. Put in the Win disk and install. Download the latest GPU drivers from manufacturer. Play games. Apple puts nothing on the install unless you use the Boot Camp thing. Maybe use a separate HD for Win7. I do.

Many of the Apple drivers and utilities are very helpful. They give you things like ability to eject from the keyboard, read files on OS X volumes, and to reboot into OS X from the system tray.

I find it useful to install boot camp drivers, then the AMD video drivers direct from AMD. I am skeptical that not installing the Apple drivers will result in a noticeable increase in gaming performance. Likewise, I am certain that not installing them will result in a noticeable lack of utility.
