A Mac Pro is a very expensive professinal computer that'd probably be out of the question for you.

IF you have quite a lot of money to spend and you don't have a monitor already, then I suggest you buy an iMac. However, if you are on a tighter budget and have a monitor you could use, buying the mini will save you a lot of money :)

I use my laptop for alot of my computing. I dont do alot of crazy programs that require massive amounts of everything. I'm very into netflix and hooking up my laptop to my sony tv here and there. So wih this, would the mac mini still be suited for me?

Sounds to me like the Mac mini is perfect for your needs.

Mac Mini or G5?

I'm also looking to buy a used mac. I'm a former graphic artist. Quadra 950 was my last mac. Now, I'm retired and looking for a mac to serve my purposes: making short films, music videos, listening and storing music, photos; watching TV, netflix, Hulu, etc. Might want to do some simple graphics via Quark. Don't know if I need an Imac or a mini will be enough or maybe something even older. I'm on a budget. Thanks for your input.

Don't get a G5. Too much software is becoming Intel Mac only.

Working on films and videos, I'd get a fast iMac or Mac Pro.
