Hello everyone -

I have an old ML-1250 laser printer that's on its last legs. I mainly used it w/a PC, but have tried using it w/a Mac (via an IOGear print server) w/o much success. I am looking to replace it with something similar. There are other Samsung lasers out there for $50 w/rebates, but I've read that Samsung recently pulled all Mac drivers.

Sooo...I'd like a cheap laser that will work both if I decide to connect it directly to my Mini or by network.

Thoughts?

I had to replace an older Samsung last year and was pretty ticked off that they stopped releasing Mac drivers.

I went with the HP 1012 -- it has since been replaced by the 1020/1022 models. If you can swing it I would consider going with the 1022 as it has more RAM.

My 1012 has been a real home workhorse. It is currently hooked up to an Airport Express and thus is wirelessly connected to our network. Both PCs and Macs can print to it via Bonjour without difficulty.

Good luck,

JT

I would definitely recommend a Brother laser printer. I've heard only great things about them, and they're available in stores such as BestBuy for as low as $75 (less with rebates).

I also like HP printers, but for a laser, I'd go with Brother.

I know Samsung doesn't provide US drivers, but aren't international English ones still available? That's what I used for my ML-1740.
