iPod Looking to see if a specific iPod feature exists

I often listen to my iPod and set it to shuffle all songs in my collection. More often than not, a band will play that I want to immediately listen to everything I have by that artist. So... my question is this:

During shuffle play of all songs, is there a way to switch to playing just songs by the artist currently being played? I have a hell of a time getting the letters to pop up when trying find an artists the "old fashioned" alphabetical way and the above mentioned shortcut would be ideal.
