I understand that there is probably hundreds of threads about this and I'm sorry but I honestly don't have the time to look at everything. I'm looking to upgrade my 1,1 2006 2ghz dual dual core mac pro's RAM and graphics. I don't really wanna flash any graphics cards just because I haven't done it before and the thought just terrifies me. Does anyone have any recommendations on graphics cards and RAM my budget is probably anywhere from 200-400 dollars. Hopefully trying to get maybe 8gb of ram (replace the old 667mhz 4gb that is currently in there). Thank you.

Yea, I saw somewhere that some RAM from newegg works, I just don't remember.

IMO your best bet for a graphics card is an AMD 5770, however its not cheap either. What are you upgrading from and what do you intend to do that requires an upgrade of your graphics card?

I currently have the 1900XT and right now I play World of Warcraft but I was planning on playing Diablo 3, bootcamping for guildwars 2, and also photoshop and design programs.

RAM - ~$100 for 4x2GB (8GB total) http://www.amazon.com/BUFFERED-PC2-...UUAC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333741780&sr=8-1

The GPU is tougher. You may be able to find some deals on Craigslist, but I've found flashing a 5770 from eBay (also ~$100) using the instructions here: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57750 has been quite easy. So far I've done about 5 of them, and I've used the aforementioned RAM about 6 times.

I use XFX -ZNFC 5770s.

Good luck!

Then the 5770 would be the top of the line choice for you, there are however, cheaper cards in between what you have and the 5770 that you could consider. If you see yourself upgrading to another MP in the future, the 5770 can move with you to your new machine, so it is future upgrade proof, to a point. I have a 5770 in my MP 3,1 driving 3 LED monitors, its great card, however I don't boot camp or game.
