My MBP has been awesome since I got it the first of Nov and just last night the battery died. It went to sleep on battery and wouldn't turn back on till I hit the power button and it rebooted and ever since when the mag safe is out, the laptop's off. So, I spoke to apple and they told me to bring it to this little mac shop (that I didn't know existed that's about 2 miles from my house) and they said it's a dead battery and will be replaced for free. Though, the batteries are out of stock at the moment. Oh well, I've always wanted an apple desktop.

Haha. No this mean my laptop is now only a desktop till I get my new battery...sometime...hopefully soon.

Has any one else experienced a dead battery?

Did you try the whole "chuck it in the freezer overnight, then let it warm to room temp and recharge" routine? Might help out until the new battery comes.

That's the battery in the freezer, not the puter...

I have had the same issue - simply taking out the battery and reseating it always resolves it.
