My previous 2016 iPad only had 32 GB of memory and that is why I noticed that all of its memory was quickly consumed when I made a screen recording.
The “other” category was growing and growing after a recording and this memory cannot be reclaimed other than be reinstalling a backup.
It would be better if Apple could provide a garbage collector instead.
My new iPas has lots of memory, so I won’t need to restore quickly, but the problem is still there.
Is there anyone who noticed this issue too?

I don’t understand this post. When recording the screen- it obviously increases storage usage as it’s creating a video, although nowhere near 32gb unless it’s hours long, so you obviously have very little spare space? On the other hand they get stored in the photos app and so deleting them is trivial. If they don’t free up memory after that you can empty the bin in the photos app which may help. Can you elaborate on what’s happening and why the standard workflow doesn’t work?

Thanks for your help.
I forgot to mention that I already did the obvious, i.e. deleting the video using the photo app, also from the recently deleted category of course.
One would expect that this would reclaim the memory.
Nevertheless the “other” category is growing.

This ‘other’ category is definitely a pita, but are you sure it’s related to screen recording?
