I got an email with a link to deposit the Lopez v. Apple settlement check. I can't remember how I asked for it to be sent (check or direct deposit). It looks legit but most good scams do.
Has anyone else received this email and used the link to deposit the check. $40 is not worth getting hacked.

I know about the settlement. I’m just questioning the email as it is perfect for scammers to send out fishing emails right about now to try and scrape banking info.

Looks legit to me.

If it specifically mentions your name in the email then it should be bonafide. Scammers don’t have your actual info so they typically address you using your email like “Dear John940”.

I received the EXACT same email, for $40.10 (and if "not negotiated by May 23"), and I agree, it looks extremely fishy, and I have not clicked on the link. Have you done anything yet or found out anything more?

No I have not clicked it yet. I haven’t found any more info. At some point I’ll email the settlement admin.
Let us know if you find out anything.

Even if this is legit, I super don’t trust this payment provider to properly handle bank account information and not get hacked in the future. Why would they use an ACH payment provider for this? Don’t people understand that ACH information can be used to make withdrawals too?

As an update, I emailed them and they offered to mail me a check instead, which I took them up on.

I originally asked for and just got my physical check this past weekend and it was also for $40.10 and says it's void after 5/23/26 and the letter attached has the same info@LopezVoiceAssistantSettlement.com email included in it, so I think this email you got was real, in case anyone wanted any more verification.

I was hoping the settlement would be for more, but $40 is $40. 😛
