I have been using the the Pixel 7 pro for a week or so and switched on my 14 pro max to do some banking and noticed that the battery life had dropped quite a lot, did not record what it was on before but it had dropped a lot. I then switched it back off and 24 hours later powerered it back on and another 5% has gone.

Does the iPhone have something that runs even when totally powered down or might I have a faulty battery?

These batteries do lose some power when not being used by 5% in 24 hours is wrong.

I would charge it to 100% and let it sit for a few days to get a real idea and if it is still doing it, take it to Apple. BUT, it will be hard to demonstrate, hopefully if they run a test they can find something wrong.

I don't think 5% in 24 hours is bad–and iPhones never really are off. Even when off, Find My still works.

Is your "Find My Network" setting enabled? (Settings -> Apple ID -> Find My)

If it is, your iPhone remains in a low-power state even when turned off, so that it can be located via Bluetooth.

Just checked and it's on so that must be it.

Thanks

5% is too much if the device is off. It should lose a couple of percentages per week or month, if that. I have a iPhone 11 Pro switched off at my work desk for months and it doesn’t lose battery like that.
