Has anybody given up a jailbroken iPhone for the new 5s and regretted doing so? Can some of you that have done so give some pros n cons on the matter. I currently have a 4s jailbroken iPhone.

No regrets here. I've been jailbreaking for many years now and I ALWAYS stayed on the latest iOS jailbreak until the new iOS got its jailbreak. But this time I approached the device upgrade differently and have not regretted it once.

In fact, if ever were the time to be stock on a new device it's with the 5s and iOS 7. The combination is one of Apple's greatest feats in my opinion. I also went from the 4s to 5s and while I miss some key jailbreak tweaks, after about a month or so you get used to stock and don't think about it much.

It's a huge improvement going from the 4s to 5s. While the 4s is still pretty powerful, the additional ram, larger screen, significantly faster processor and gpu, plus the TouchID make the switch an absolute no brainer.

Do it. You will not regret it. Hopefully a jailbreak will be released in early 2014. For you, that's not too bad of a wait.

Nope, no regrets.

iPhone 5 was undoubtedly the WORST iPhone model ever produced by Apple (especially the battery)
I would make the move from iPhone 5 to iPhone 5S over and over again.

funny, i was thinking the exact same thing about the 5S lol

5S = no real change

I sold my jailbroken iPhone 4s for an HTC One about 6 months ago. Then in late October I dropped the HTC One and destroyed the screen(oops...), so I was in the market for a new phone. I ended up with the 5s.

What I miss from the jailbroken 4s: F.lux, Gridlock, Springtomize and BiteSMS.

What I miss from the HTC One: the gorgeous 1080p display, the ability to install whatever ROM I wanted nearly anytime I felt like it, and alternative keyboard options(Swype, SwiftKey, Googles own "nexus" keyboard). I certainly DO NOT MISS THE CAMERA.

Overall the 5s is a fantastic phone. The battery life is great compared to either of the above phones(the HTC was hit or miss depending on the ROM installed). The CPU and GPU are insanely fast. I have access to the Google apps I now prefer from my time with Android.

I have to disagree with that a bit.

I know I am in a minority but my experience with the 5 has been great. My launch day iPhone 5 was perfect, no nicks. I had it replaced a few months later but that was a bad mic. The replacement had no nicks either and has been a solid performer. I get great battery life regularly.

I know that's not the case for most users. Scuffgate, poor quality control, etc. I guess I'm just lucky because I have not suffered any of that.

Good point. Forgot to mention that. Going from the 4s to 5s, the increased battery performance is absolutely bonkers. With my 4s, granted this was about a year into its life, I had to always charge my phone at work. But now with the 5s, I'm at around 65% when I leave work. Such an improvement it's hard to believe.

One caveat, the device is still stock. Will be interesting to see how battery life performs with a jailbreak and tweaks. Don't expect too much of hit. I personally have never seen significant battery drain due to a jailbreak that wasn't the result of bad software which ultimately was easy to fix.

My 4s took a HUGE hit in battery life when it was jailbroken and I had the tweaks I wanted installed. I'm sure it was simply one of the tweaks, but either way, the 5s has pretty fantastic batterylife.

I went from a jailbroken 4s to a 5s. No regrets at all. The only thing I really miss is BiteSMS and Infinidock. But those are pretty easy to deal without.

Personally i thought the 4s was the worse, it only added some power, better, camera, and siri which was limited at the time, then add the fact that the 4s had the worse battery life of all the phones, the 5 brought a lot of it back. Then add in the fact that the 4s was as heavy as a brick where the 5 was super light.

I've gotten used to it considering I mainly use Grooveshark (and that can be installed if you have a dev account).

Tethering is a big one I miss, I might try to compile an app for installation.

I miss my jailbreak a lot but it's actually not half as bad as in previous years. iOS 7 has improved a lot and I don't mind being on stock so much.

There are and probably will always be some things me and Apple don't agree on but I'm fine with waiting a few more months (hopefully not more) to change those.

I hear ya... I have followed the exact same protocol as well, not upgrading until a jailbreak was released. I know the newness of the 5s with all the upgrades will be exciting and the only con will be the wait for the next jailbreak.

Over Thanksgiving I was around an iPhone 5 for a couple of days and was impressed with the upgrades it had compared to the 4s, granted I still felt cooler because I was jailbroken. And that coolness was only limited to my finite mind, but you guys get it.

Thanks for the coments

I had to warranty my jailbroken 6.1.2 iP5 in as the power button was broken (grr!) but at the same time I decided to upgrade to the 5s for one big reason: I was sick of the pixel binning "feature" of the 5 as it made pictures in low light (which the 5 was meant to be an improvement on) look so grainy.

Even my old 4S took better gig photos that the 5 did!

Having said that, I now sorely miss activator, iblacklist and other random tweaks, but I couldn't live with a 5 with a broken button whilst I had the chance to warranty it, though I'm finding myself swiping down to sleep, which clearly doesn't work for now :p

I returned the 5s and kept the 5.....

iOS7 is so bad in many respects its ridiculous. Specially the LAG and memory issues.... The 5S should have come with 2gb RAM.

5-->5s no regrets here... If iOS had a few more things stock:
1) f.lux
2) quick reply for messages
3) swipe to lock
4) swipe to multitasking
5) replace rotation lock toggle in notification center for a LTE toggle
I would never really see a need to jailbreak my iPhone again.
