I recently bought a new macbook. I updated to the latest itunes. Synced my phone. Great right? NO. looking for some help here. I previously had all my music managed manually on my phone wit an Apple music subscription. i would make playlists of downloaded music to my phone. I would tell Siri to shuffle playlist. all was good. Now when i tell Siri to shuffle playlist "January" it plays random music from the cloud. nothing that is even in my library.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to simplify like I had before this update. Before i was not using the cloud, but could still see all of my music I downloaded from Apple music. Now it seems I have to use the cloud, and whatever content that gets pulled is random?

I basically just want to have music on my phone from my library and Apple music and not use the cloud. is this not possible anymore?

I think you should watch some Apple Music tutorials on YouTube. Buying a new MacBook doesn't change anything on your phone, you must have turned off AM Library, or signed out or something.

Apple Music is entirely "in the cloud". You don't sync your music to your phone from iTunes anymore.
