Loss of backup data after upgrade

Hi all,

I have upgraded from Mojave to Catalina yesterday. I've noticed now the timemachine backups are no longer sparesbundles but now backupbundles.

Now, i am unable to see my past backups only the one taken yesterday yet my time machine backup is over 1TB in size.

Anyone had this issue?

Same here! Don't really know what to do except totally starting over. Extremely bad from Apple: making backups unusable. I'm in the lucky situation that I don't need my past backups, but if I had to I would have had a big problem.

If you had been using either CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper for backups, you wouldn't be having these problems now...

I should be able to just use Apple's tools. They even advise to use them!
