Since I've installed macOS Sierra, that I've noticed that my screen was acting strange. It seemed almost as if a whitish film/filter had been applied. I would even say that everything looks a bit smudged.

After experimenting some things, I've noticed that removing the adjusting the brightness automatically option, makes the screen go back to normal. It has nothing to do with the brightness though as even when I set the brightness to the maximum manually, I don't see this smudging or white filter effect.

Did anyone notice this already?

Thanks

On The Interweb Thingy!
I had this with el Capitan on my MacBook Air. I took it to Apple and they ran tests on it, where they didn't do much else apart from reinstalling the OS on it. The problem then went away.

So, reinstall the OS and see if that helps.

Can you take a photo of your screen? Not a screenshot -- that will just capture what the screen thinks it's sending to the display based on your color profile.

Speaking of which, try going to System Preferences -> Display -> Color and see if enabling a different color profile helps.

nVidia card? Try their web driver. This thread on InsanelyMac lists all the available drivers since nVidia does a horrible job at listing them all in one place.
