Hello,

Following the recent iTunes Match issues - that is now resolved - I have discovered another one that is likely linked to iTunes Match.

All my tracks that are in status "matched" - that have been matched prior to his outage - are now not playable any more.

They play well during about 12 to 15 seconds, then the sound is suddenly inaudible as it is chopped and metallic. This is happening with all my matched tracks with lossless music tracks only. AAC works normally.

This is happened within Music for Mac OS (Music 1.1.6.37) as well as Music for iPhone and iPad. (14.7.1)

Do any of you see the same problem ? Thank you for letting me know.

This is a bug happening for Apple Music as well, still not fixed. The only temporal workaround is to turn off lossless.

Thank you B/D. And thank you for the workaround.

I thought this was solved already for Apple Music, that is to say pure Lossless Apple Music tracks - not matched - are playing fine for me. The problem I have is really for matched tracks with Lossless Apple Music from my library.

I have just tried to play one of my problematic tracks directly through Apple Music and it plays fine in Lossless quality.

The same track - issued from my Library - which is indeed matched with Apple Music, stop playing after 15 seconds and I can hear a metallic / choppy sound.

Do any of you have the same problem ? Thank you for letting me know.

Yes I have the same problem, both with matched and apple music lossless tracks. Also happens when playing the content back with an Apple TV 4K. But for me, is random: Some tracks will be glitchy in one playback, but if I play them again, they are fine. Then I play them one more time and they are glitchy again. Totally random.

Have you tried updating to Mac Os 11.5.2?. It was released yesterday. Perhaps it´s fixed now. I have not updated yet.

Thank you for your reply.

I have indeed updated and tried with latest Mac OS release with Music 1.1.6.37 : problem is still here. I have closed then reopened my Music session, but the problem is still here.

I have more than 100 CD in this case, and I believe about 500 tracks not playing anymore :-(

Oh dear. Well, in the meantime, turn off lossless (at least you will be able to enjoy your music), until this longstanding issue is fixed for good.

Thank you for the workaround B/D. Hopefully this will be corrected in Monterey.

Are they any members with the latest beta who can confirm that this is fixed ? Thanks !

Could you confirm to me that if you disable lossless completely in the music app settings the affected tracks play without any problems?

I have just given a try. I have modify the parameters in Music App from Lossless to High Quality and the tracks are playing perfectly. Switching back to Lossless and I get the strange noise after 13-15 seconds. This is systematic.

So I can confirm that the workaround you have proposed is efficient, and we still need Apple to correct this issue.

Hello,

I have imported a new album today, some of the tracks have matched with existing lossless Apple Music tracks. They play well - in lossless -, even after I deleted the local file.

Unfortunately, older tracks - imported before the Apple Match issues - are still stop playing after 15 seconds, with sudden loud metallic sounds.

I fear that I will need to re-import everything manually (more than 100+ CD, about 500 tracks) :-(

If there are any forum members with the latest beta, can you confirm that this is fixed ? Thanks a lot !
