well, my MBP hard drive says i have 93 GBS left, although i have nothing installed on it. reinstalling OSX with an erase and install wont even bring me back up to 111 GBs

(120 GB HD)

does the MBP really just have 93 GBS? 27 GBs seems like a lot to loose

Have a look at this article to help understand why a "120 GB" hard drive is only ~111 GB.

And yes, the rest is taken up by the default OS X installation. Things like printer drivers, language support, and iDVD themes take up a boatload of space.

A 120GB HD will exactly have 111GB space.

so your saying 93 GB is normal?
i know th real storage is 11 but the os really takes that much?

Doing an erase and install, but choosing not to install extra languages, drivers etc. saves space :)
