I have a Huawei P30 which I don’t really use much but took a lot of videos on it. today I was looking through it to try and find an old video of a family member which meant a lot to me but remembered i deleted all the photos on the phone, I checked recently deleted but it’s not there as it was deleted over 30 days ago.
Anyway I’m wondering if deleting a photo from the phone would delete it from all the other locations it may have been stored on the phone?

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help.

I would install several recovery apps from the Android app store and see if it works. Just type in Recover Deleted Files in search.

sorry but isn't it ironic that if it had Google Photos app it would probably be backed up to the cloud.....
apologize for my sarcastic response which was not helpful....

if my phone wasn’t connected to the internet or not logged in to google photos could it still have been backed up to the cloud with google photos? Also is it possible it could be stored anywhere else on the phone

With Google Photos...it will back up photos and videos to the cloud when connected to the internet.
But only if logged into your Google account and connected to the internet through WiFi or cellular.

Sorry to bother you again but it’s definitely not on my google photos. just wondering, could the images have been saved to any other photography apps on the Huawei even if deleted from the photos app or does deleting them from one location delete them from everywhere? Thanjs

I'm not sure...does Huawei have a separate photo app? Does it store to a Huawei cloud of some sort?

hi, thanks for your reply. I can view images on the camera app and I can view images on the gallery app. I think that the video is gone for good as I can’t find it ☹ thank you for your help

Do you have Microsoft Onedrive app on your phone? if yes, camera upload on?

unfortunately not. I feel so sad I never just backed the phone up ? thanks for your help.

For videos did you check under Gallery, Albums then videos? Did you also check under recently deleted? I never lost a video on my Huawei P30 Pro before

When dealing with any sort of photographic matter, whether it is photo stills or videos, it really is a very good idea to back up your files for safekeeping. Well, for that matter, on your mobile devices and also on your computer(s), it's also important to back up your other important stuff, too, such as documents, music, movies, etc......... This is on my mind currently since I just finished running a backup on my own computers and my own various important files. I keep my iPhones and iPads backed up regularly.

Actually, it's good to do this in duplicate or maybe even triplicate so that if one backup mechanism fails for whatever reason you've still got the other(s). Backup of important files is really critical. Don't ignore the opportunity to do it!

I looked everywhere including recently deleted but it’s just not there. Thanks for yourreply. Does deleting a video from The videos album delete it from the Gallery section? I also lost this phone as well so not much hope. Thanks
