I have bene wrestling with this issue for a couple days. A machine I use for accessing a couple Synology servers suddenly stopped being able to see any Network servers in the Finder. I can connect to the internet just fine on it and VNC works fine, but on the machine, it cant see anything on the Network via service discovery OR when I go to connect via SMB via IP address. Nada. I clean installed the machine and rebuilt it piece by piece which is how I figured out what was going on. Anybody else having anything similar or any sense of a fix?

Rumor,

Just a shot in the dark: downgrade to 11.2.1

I lost the sound ("Headphone Port" disappeared from Preferences) after going up to 11.2.2 and that was the solution. I see references to the 11.2.2 update tinkering with the T2 security firmware - maybe that's what happened to your computer?

I was able (yesterday) to download 11.2.1 from the App Store. They hadn't updated it yet so that made it relatively easy.

No guarantees - just guessing,

Tom

EDIT: Another user said his sound came back after a reboot - no downgrade - I tried rebooting and it didn't help, but maybe? It's certainly a quick thing to try.

So you are correct. I use a virtual network interface to put this machine on a VLAN. Its not a t2 based mac. So I had been trouble shooting by doing my few few tasks which include

Clean install to 11.2.1 from internet recovery
downloading my VNC client
setting up my Virtual VLAN interface (part of the OS - https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-up-a-vlan-on-mac-mh15134/mac)
and then configuring a few thunderbolt 3 Sonnet 10GbE adapters I have installed (1gigabyte per second over my 10GbE networked NAS is pretty awesome)
Then update to 11.2.2

The thing I seem to have discovered through this trial and error is that if I make the VLAN setting BEFORE the update, Network gets hosed. If I do the update THEN create the virtual interface it works fine and has continued to do so. So wild. I filed it at bugreport.apple.com as it seems like an edge case.
