This is probably supposed to be in the itunes forum but im not getting many answers over there. While trying to move all of the files off of my itunes I somehow deleted everything. If I plug my iphone up and tell it to sync will I delete everything off of the phone? If so, is there any way I can restore the files from my phone to my itunes or am I just screwed and can never plug my phone up again and just be stuck with what I have?

Have you checked your music folder to see if the files are still there?

There's several applications scattered about that you can use to transfer your music from your phone to your computer.

If you use a Mac check out Senuti.

i have a pc. i have checked the music folder and they are gone. all my apps and everything are gone too. i was using the consolidate library option to move the files to an external hard drive. once I moved them itunes was not picking up the files on the external hard drive. so, i moved the files back to itunes and deleted them off of the external hard drive. but, when i moved them back i forgot to change the itunes media folder back to a folder on my computer instead of the external hard drive. somehow, i lost everything. will those programs transfer apps and everything? Is there any other suggestions?

Your apps will transfer back. You just have to click "check for purchases" in the iTunes "Advanced" menu (I think it's in Advanced; I'm not on my computer right now). Or you can redownload them. You won't get charged again.

Unfortunately, Senuti is the only one I was able to find that retained play counts, last played, date added and all that. I paid for it because that info is important to me but I'm sure you can find a free alternative if you don't mind losing that stuff.

Just get Sharepod, a free program to get music (and photos) of the iPhone.

does it work with the iphone?

Yes. SharePod is a free and awesome gift to those of us that have blown up their home servers containing (or used to contain) all of our music.

It will allow you to copy down all of your videos, songs, audiobooks, playlists, etc.
