Hello,

I did a clean install of ML yesteday om my new Macbook Air 2012/128gb/4 ram

and I noticed that all was left from my 128 gb is 107 gb/
where did 21gb go???

all i downloaded was VLC and Chrome.

i did. and it says that 6GB is going for -Private->VAR->VM->Sleepimage.

what does that mean? and how do i get it into the trash?

Do you by any chance have 6 GB of RAM?

If so, my best guess is that that space is reserved for when you hibernate your mac.
(The RAM has to be put somewhere.)

I have 4 i think.
the sleepimage file is actually 4.3GB and i also have swapfiles that weigh the rest.

is that normal?
I dont remember noticing that on Lion.

It is normal and you always had it and just did not see it as it is a hidden file. Your problem lies elsewhere.

Maybe the recovery partition? I don't know how big it is, but you might want to check disk utility.
