Lost Icon

I fairly sure that it is operator error, but I tonight when I started up my computer the mail icon was missing from the tray and can not seem to figure out where it went or how to get it back. Any ?

Launch Mail from your Applications folder. Then right-click on the Dock icon and select Options > Keep in Dock. Or simply drag the Mail.app icon from your /Applications folder to the Dock.
