I can never seem to find the image that i saved as after working with it in PS CS3 . I would like to put finished work somewhere and be able to get it then print it . I just finished a line drawing in PS CS3 , hit save as and can't find it . Its still in 3 under recent , but not where I thought I put it . I need guidance . Thank you .

Have you thought of doing a search for these images?

That will tell you where they are or are going as the default.

A spotlight search only helps if you give your image's a name and keep records . I get so anxious to move on to my next step that I rarely do this . Thanks for your suggestion .

Umm ... so, you're not sure what folder you're saving your files in and you're not naming them in a meaningful way. You note that they still appear in the 'Recent Items' menu, but could I ask how on Earth you were expecting to find them or, indeed, know which of the saved images was the one you were looking for further down the line?

Note that if you have any editable text layers in a PSD, Spotlight will actually index these as well, so you could search on any piece of text that is contained within the document, but this is no substitute for giving the file a sensible name.

Very much a case of PICNIC, I'm afraid.

Cheers

Jim

if i accidently save as and am not sure if it went to the right folder [we all do it] - just do another 'save as' and see where it wants to put it.. and viola, that's where it should sit.

If you still have access to the file in your 'recent' listing, then with the file open, hold down the COMMAND/APPLE key and click on the center of the titlebar for that images window. It will give you the dropdown menu showing the path it sits in.. and if I'm not mistaken, you can even highlight just one directory back to have it open in your finder.

Thanks for your time and help . What is PICNIC ? This is my second attempt at a reply, so it will be shorter . I will give your suggestion a try Needlnerdz sounds interesting . Jim , I am a terrible book keeper . A few errors and I will learn . I am self taught and it is a slow learn . I am not as young as many of you and started both Apple and PS CS3 late . I am thankfull for this forum and all the help I get hear .
