Lost iPhone - Cheapest option?

Hey everyone. A friend of mine switched from a BB to an iPhone approximately 6 months ago. She's since lost her iPhone and is not a MM user nor did she load any iPhone-finding software on her iPhone.

What is her best/cheapest option?

What happens if she signs up for a new 3G or 3GS? Will that only renew her contract from today, or will it also not make her eligible for the 4th generation iPhone at special pricing when that becomes available?

Any tips/tricks?

What carrier

Does she have? Since macrumors is world wide and different carrier's have different policy's that would be usful info

1. Log on to her account and figure out when her next eligibility is for hardware upgrade.
2. If she's not eligible at discounted price, she can only extend her contract and the phone will be $200 more. Plus she will not be eligible for discount on any new phone until end of ineligibility.

I would rather wait for the new phone and use the upcoming eligibility for it instead.

Good point! She's with AT&T here in the US.

I will ask her to log in to see her eligibility for upgrade pricing.
