Hi,

Five years ago my son made some short iMovies and until recently they were working perfectly. Last night we went to look at them and although the speaking part was okay, the music he’d used wasn’t playing. Any ideas why this would happen?
Thank you

Hmm, that's interesting... my first thought is that this might be a DRM (digital rights management) issue. If the music he used was tied to one Apple ID, and the device you're wanting to play it back on is signed into a different Apple ID, then perhaps iMovie keeps track of whether the second Apple ID has rights to play it (presumably doesn't).

Second thought is perhaps the music needs to be present on the device itself - is the piece of music he used for background available for audio playback in the iOS Music app on the iPad? And if so, does it play from there?

Thanks very much for this. I will pass the info onto my son. Regards.
