For some reason, I've lost all apple related toolbar items on my PowerBook. Also, none of my keyboard commands work for running spotlight, taking screenshots etc. Does anyone know what files I need to trash to force a reset of the finder.

I've already tried restarting the finder, and the machine.

Do you have the Front Row hack installed? There's apparently an update that'll prevent this happening but since I don't use the hack, I don't know where to find it.

If not, try dragging com.apple.systemuiserver.plist to the Desktop and restarting. :)

Yes! Thanks mad jew. For anyone who's interested, the fix is here http://voice.firefallpro.com/
