Hi

I upgraded to 3.0.1 last night. Backed up the iPhone before downloading/installing the upgrade.

After installation got a 1602 error and had to restore. It restored to a 'like new' iPhone.

Restored from the most recent backup (the one made before the upgrade) and now have no email accounts, no contacts, no SMS, no calendar, no Safari Bookmarks...

I have some, but not all photos in the Camera Roll. Bizarrely some recent ones are there, some are missing.

Strangely do have Notes, Call History, Wallpaper and some App account settings (e.g EBuddy, Tweetie all work as normal)

The phone is running 3.0.1 now. Have tried three times from the same backup but each time the same. No email accounts, no contacts, no SMS, no calendar...

The last backup before that it's showing is May 09 (even though the phones been backed up many times since then).

Any help to get the content back on the phone much appreciated!!

Thanks!

Perc

Were you jailbroken?

I would suppose that all bets are off if you upgraded a modified phone.

If so, maybe a restore of 3.0 first then and upgrade to 3.0.1

Honestly, your email accounts, contacts and calendar all should be synced with your computer, email, or exchange server in some way or another. These are not stored in backups.

SMS messages are stored in backups, so it is weird that these are missing.

I'm not 100% sure how the bookmarks work. Mine are synced with my computer with MobileMe... so they are NOT stored in my backups. However, if you don't sync them with something, then i'd guess they SHOULD be stored in a backup.

Email accounts shouldn't even be an issue. I don't think their info is stored in a backup anyways. Just re-enter the info and it will download all your messages again.

Hi. Not jailbroken.

I'll try to downgrade and use the backup incase that works. Would like to get the SMS back.......

I believe contacts, email accounts etc etc etc are stored in a working backup. Previously when I've had replacement iPhones I've installed from the backup onto the new phone and everything comes back. Maybe it's a 3.0.1 thing or mane just the backup is no good. I've heard of this from others.

Would be good if it, erm, just worked!
