My daughters iPhone 6 is locked because recently a very old email and password suddenly showed up. Since she hasn't had that provider in over 8 years, she can't remember her old password. She has talked to Apple, Verizon (our 'new' provider) and several other so-called experts. She has done everything they have told her but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Not sure but iCloud is the app that has the incorrect email. It is affecting all the other apps such as iTunes. She cannot signout or change the iCloud pswd because she doesn't know it. Its been nearly 10 years since she used this.

If you cannot prove ownership of the associated AppleID to Apple then nobody else can help. If Apple is unable to assist you in regaining access to the account using recovery features then you will forfeit the account and everything that goes with it (email, purchases, etc).

There is a very good reason for this -- security. The reason that so many security professionals use Apple products is that they take security and privacy very seriously. If you can't prove that you are the account owner then Apple is doing the right thing by keeping you out of the account. You could just as well be a thief, Government agency, or black hat hacker that is trying to gain access to the account.

Thank you for this information. If she knew where the old email came from she could get it fixed. Crazy. It just showed up one day. Thanks again.
