Lost photos

I got a replacement phone on an 29th and I lost a lot of photos after restoring to the replacement phone. I had backed up all of my pics/videos as well the old phone itself before getting the replacement. I still have photos from certain days...for instance, I have photos from dec 31 but some are missing from that day and then more show up for the days after and that pattern continues until the 15th of this month where everything after that date is gone. I called apple and created a ticket to have someone try to figure out whats going on. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and been successful in getting their pictures/videos back? Also has anyone experienced videos disappearing right after taking them?

Where did you backup to, iCloud, Mac, PC? You should always make two backups if possible, one to the cloud, the other to your Mac or PC. And.. were you using Photo Stream?

I backed it up to iCloud, I didn’t have access to a computer to do a second back up to iTunes. I also wasn’t using photo stream but I had iCloud Photo Library turned on
