When I first got my MB Air, I transferred all my pictures from my iMac onto my Time Capsule and then copied them onto my MB Air, I am now away from my Time Capsule but when I try to open my pictures they will open but then a pop up box appears saying that " Connection failed" the server may not exist or is not operational at this time bla bla bla
Any ideas how to fix this problem????

are you sure you copied them from your Time Capsule to your Air? It sounds like you only copied aliases (links) to them, so your air is looking for the capsule.

1. Wrong Forum
2. Most likely what glitch is saying! Do you see small black arrows on the lower left side of the photo's icons?

1. Which forum should it be on?
2.There are no small black arrows. When I right click and get info on the iPhoto library it says 5.7 GB on disk Where /users/ndwgolf/pictures.

The forum should be Mac OS X or Mac OS Applications!

Then tell me.... you get the error when you try to open the pics in the finder? Have you tried importing the library o iPhoto! And some one please tell me.... since when does iPhoto library nest itself over network?

Dude are you seriously going to bust the guy's chops over the freaking forum? At least his post is written well enough that we can all understand and assist. Unlike the ******** we see where someone's iPhone won't turn on and they type like a two year old obsessed with the exclamation point!
Just chill man, mods can move this post if need be.

OP: You just copied your iPhoto library onto your desktop? Can you click and show the contents of that library? I'm curious if you copied the library (the one file that iPhoto places in "my pictures" so your Air is expecting you to re-import into iPhoto.

The forum is an important consideration while posting stuff. And the only thing that the OP did well in the thread is implement his grammatical skills! I believe his opening post was lacking some very essential info. I only came to know that s/he's talking about iPhoto library from his 2nd and 3rd posts!

Yes when I click "show contents" There are many items in the iPhoto folder, is there anything in particular that should be in there???
Also where I am located right now (oil rig) I do not have any sort of internet connection or wireless connection

The iPhoto library you copied is on your desktop, right? If so, "right click" on it and select "show package contents" and then go to the originals folder. If there are pictures in those folders that will open in quicklook, preview, etc, then you have the pictures on the computer but there might be something wrong with the iPhoto library file the computer is trying to open.

You have hit it on the nail; when i was at home i would get a window pop up saying iPhoto is trying to find DS00056.jpg then you would have the option to find, cancel, ok ...........when I was at home the window would go away and I could see all the pictures.
Is there a way to see all the individual pictures in the iPhoto libaray away from iPhoto and build a new libaray
What I am thinking is open a file say pictures and copy all the pictures I have into that folder and then import that folder into iPhoto?
Thanks in advance
