So I am running macOS Sierra beta 1 (not on my daily driver) and the strangest thing happened when I plugged my iPad Air 2 in last night...
My Macbook Pro 2010 Unibody 15" rebooted itself. When it came back on, the time was 00:01 on the 1st of January 2001. The top status bar had lost all my "choices" (i.e. show bluetooth and wifi) and wouldn't automatically connect to a network
I have tried a couple of reboots and also Safe mode - have carried out First Aid on the disk but to no avail. The system also doesn't require my password to log on
I am just trying to figure out what on Earth happened before I re-install the OS.
Has anyone come across something like this before?
[doublepost=1467184386][/doublepost]I can only open things like System Prefs and Activity Monitor. Other apps bounce on the dock then comes up with an "Unexpectedly quit" screen
