I think I just want to rant a bit and see if anyone else has had similar experiences.
First I had the Airpod Pro (1st gen). They worked great for a while then I'd start having issues.
The issues varied but here are of few of them:
- making booming sounds with each step that I take
- can't toggle between transparency/ANC modes
- constant buzzing sound in one bud
I've had them replaced maybe 3 or 4 times under AppleCare+ and once just out of AppleCare+ under an Apple Service Program. https://support.apple.com/airpods-pro-service-program-sound-issues
Each time the replacements worked beautifully for a while. After some time, issues would arise again.
After the Airpod Pros had sound issues again, I thought I'd try non Apple ear buds but had comfort or call quality issues (I tried Sony LinkBuds). I reluctantly bought a pair of Airpod (3rd gen) thinking this should be better since they were the newest version and they have no ANC so there's less to go wrong. The airpods 3rd gen worked fine for a while then I started having sound balance issues. I had them replaced under AppleCare+. The replacements had perfect center balance. Recently, I'm having sound balance issues again.
Is it just me? I wonder if because I often use them in bed to listen to something to go to sleep that maybe I'm breaking them somehow? Why would that harm them if so?
Ok, my rant is over.
TLDR: I keep experiencing issues with Airpods Pro (1st gen) and Airpod (3rd gen) and I'm frustrated. I like them when they work. Anyone else experience repeated issues with apple earbud products?
