My personal experience, I am trying to restore my ipod classic so I can update it with itunes 12. Didn't have any issues about a week ago, then starting yesterday it would connect and be seen fine in yosemite disk utility, finder, etc, but not itunes. Was not updating podcasts. Figured I could maybe restore the image on the ipod classic, but it's not even able to do that now ... just stuck in DFU now unfortunately. Tried formatting it in disk utility, even. Very frustrating, and everyone's issues seem to have turned up at once on the support communities. Basically unusable ipod classic at this point
