To go along with being on my 3rd battery in 9 months. My screen is dim on the right side. and my CPU temp when idle is about 120 F and when playing a streaming video from the internet it goes up to 160 F. Is all of this normal?

Those temps seem pretty normal for Macs.
They are pretty close to the temps I get on my Mac Mini G4, the ones I remember on my old iMac G5, and pretty similar to what I see on my Mac Pro (even without a load).
All those systems had more airspace than your portable. So, I'd say if that's what you're seeing, it's probably fine.
The Macs have a built-in shutdown mechanism. If the computer gets beyond it's safe temps, the machine shuts down by itself as an attempt to prevent further damage.
