I just bought a Macbook about 2 weeks ago and so far have loved it but there have been a couple weird issues and I would love a little help if anyone has a chance. I've been importing my CD's into iTunes and I've heard a really loud beep (almost car horn honk-sounding) after 2 of the 20-25 CD's I've imported so far. Both CD's that made the honk were clean and in excellent condition. After the beep it lowers the volume of the whole computer substantially. Other then those two things it doesn't seem to be doing anything else and rebounds like nothing happend. Also on a completely different CD there was a terrible and loud almost vibrating noise when trying to import so I ejected it and tried again and got the same results. I decided to try other CDs and it worked fine so I believe that CD is just warped or something but who knows.

OS X 10.4.10
Software Update says it completely updated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've had the same noisy problems. Sometimes the macbook has it, sometimes it doesn't. It can have and then I'd turn it off for a few minutes and then it'd import without issues. It's quite often that I get the sort of noise as if the cd isn't pressed correctly onto the round thing that makes it turn, giving it a skipping sound...

I've changed my mind about apple hardware a bit. The ram and hd's are way overpriced and the cd drive sucks. But I'm still a happy switcher nevertheless, I just don't blindly believe the hype anymore, thank god!

I must admit that I was imagining the Macbook to be this amazing machine with all the praise I've heard about it, but I'm really not as impressed as I was hoping I would be. It's just like any other computer out there, it has its ups and downs. If the current Mac line didn't have bootcamp and the ability to boot Windows there is no way I would have gotten one because there are too many programs that I need that just aren't available for OS X. With all the faults I've found so far I'm happy that I got it even though there is so much bloat preinstalled (who the hell needs gigs of garageband loops?).
