I just got my computer back from compusa to replace the dead hd.. i have an imac g5 2.0ghz 20 inch.. I dont know if this ever happened before.. but now that im copying stuff over from cds that i backedup, only when im copying it onto the hd or something.. the cd drive gets REALLY loud like a freaken chainsaw.. is this supposed to happen??

Well, it should be working hard and making a bit of noise, but nothing to compare with a chainsaw. Do other brands of CDs, in particular new commercial disks, work quietly? :)

well, chainsaw might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it was with a dvd that ive only used once.. im going to keep using it and see if anything wierd happens..
