Hello all-
By some miracle, my phone came back to life after a washing machine attack. I let it dry out for 3 months and it is ALMOST back to life. It holds a charge and almost everything works. The loud speaker on the bottom works, the usb syncs the phone, but I cannot for the life of me get the microphone to work. I've reseeded the #4 cable like 10 times but nothing seems to get it to work. Do you think the mic is shot or what? what is an easy test for this? Also, I assume that ribbon 3 has nothing to do with the mic and just links to the headset speaker?

Thank you all!

Looked at the mic

The mic looks fine and all the solder looks fine too, any tips would be appreciated, should I just replace the entire board and mic or is there an easy way to test this mic? I hope its not an on board female connection 4 issue, that will cause me to waste a lot of money. Does anyone know what else ribbon 4 controls?

Also, the home button, attenae, loud speaker and USB all work

Also, the home button, attenae, loud speaker and USB all work. this leaves a faulty mic right?

just bought a new mic, the other one looks corroded

I looked at the back of the other mic and the capacitors looked corroded, if its not the mic oh well $8.
