I see alot of complaint and threads with issues (not that I won't have them later, but....) I thought I would let you guys know that my new Macbook Pro is cool! I am very happy with my purchase!

After browsing around in these forums (and others on the net) a while and asking several questions, I got the Macbook Pro 2.2 GHz, 2GB Ram, 15.4" with 160 GB HDD. I ordered from apple on Thursday 10-18-07 and it was delivered yesterday 10-22-07.

I wanted to get one ahead of Leopard and learn OS X Tiger before going on to Leopard and to make certain there aren't bugs in Leopard. I have already placed my $9.99 upgrade order through Apple.com.

I have spent yesterday and today playing with all the cool included software and I have downloaded some great Apps, like Handbrake, Firefox, a few widgets, and several others!!! AWESOME!

I have successfully moved my iPod contents to the MBP thanks to iPodRip! I have switched my iPod Touch from my XP machine to the MBP. I will likely leave my 5G iPod on the XP Machine, for now anyway.

I am learning slowly, but this thing is friggin' AWESOME! It is super fast running various programs. I am glad that I went with the Macbook Pro instead of the Macbook I was eyeing. I like the extra screen real estate, better graphics card and the silver color! The main thing that made me go for the MBP is that I wanted a Mac, NOW and there were too many rumors of an upgraded MB coming in the coming weeks. I don't care if they upgrade the MBP tomorrow, I am happy with the machine that I am typing on!

I would recommend this computer to anyone looking. I am happy to answer any questions for those of you who are on the fence! If you are undecided, I say go for it! You won't be disappointed! At least, I'm not. I couldn't be happier with the product so far.

I know issues can arrise later, but for now everything is great!

ahhhh yes....i was in your shoes a month and a half ago. i too love my mbp and have not even thought about windows.

You should really give Safari a chance. It's an awesome web browser and really fast. The Safari 3 Beta is even better. I'd also recommend trying out Quicksilver. It's a really powerful tool once you get used to it.

Mine's about a month old and is the best laptop i have ever had, and the first portable i ever owned was the ibm pc xt portable and have been trying mobile solutions ever since. but i dont know about Quicksilver, it's the only app from hundreds that i have now that does not do what it's supposed to! quirky little program....

Anirban, I noticed your iPod in your sig!

Can't get yours to break either? ;)

I can't bring myself to get a Touch until my trusty B/W G4 dies, but.. It won't.

:apple:!

i am also extremely satisfied with my 4 week old MPB! Everything is workin great

i also dont have any problems like the ones i've seen posted (knock on wood)

Just a side note. If you manually manage your music you can just leave your ipod windows formated. That way both windows and OS X will be able to write to it. Otherwise, Windows doesn't play nice with mac formatted iPods.

I second using safari. I only have firefox installed for the very small number of sites that don't like safari.

I actually have Safari and have been using it more than FireFox. Also I am using QuickSilver. I have loaded about 15 or so of some of the more popular apps.

So far, I prefer Safari. I loaded Camino but don't really like it as much. I like being able to start up with multiple tabs in Firefox. Is there a way to do it in Safari?
