Been a long time apple user ..since the original iphone in 2007. had every version of it. Got bored of ios and switched to Galaxy s3 last year and been quite happy so far. Last week i traded the S3 for Sony Xperia ZL..and man..i love this hardware and the version of android..

Got the iphone 5S for the wife..but the display on ZL is quite something..camera is great. Battery life is reasonable (compared to my old S3) and the standard android customization is very handy..

Don't think i'll ever go back to ios..

I got an Xperia ZL for my wife to replace her ageing Nokia. I wanted a phone with expandable storage, but a bit cheap. The phone arrived a couple of days ago. I have an S4.

The Sony UI is probably the best manufacturer UI I have seen. Very lightly skinned and easy to use. None of the clutter of Touchwiz. The phone itself is smooth. I have yet to detect any hint of stutter. The phone came with Android 4.1.2 and updated to 4.2.2 when powered up. Sony has announced that it will be upgraded to KitKat soon. The phone is very compact. It has a 5 inch display, but is smaller in size than my S4.

The phone is a tad heavier and thicker than my S4. My major complaint is with the display. It is fantastic looking straight on, but turn it just a bit and it gets washed out. Can get annoying when my wife is trying to show me a photo from a distance and she does not hold it straight enough. Camera is not good in low light. Battery life is average.

Overall, my wife likes it and we’ll be keeping it.
